-

Yes!
The Cox technique treatments can be performed on your side and is very gentle and highly recommended!
-
I was recently in a motor vehicle accident (MVA), what would my treatment plan be?
If you’ve recently been in a MVA, it’s a good idea to come in for an exam. We will assess your condition and recommend a treatment protocol to suit your injuries.
-
How often will I have to come in?
The frequency of treatments depends on your condition. For most of our patients, 2 to 3 treatments a week are recommended initially. We then follow Dr. Cox’s 50% rule: when symptoms are 50% improved, we drop the number of visits by half, again, depending on condition, this might take 2-3 weeks.
-
What will my first visit be like?
The first visit is generally about one hour long. You will be asked to fill out a questionnaire before your visit and we ask that you bring in any X-Ray, MRI and/or CT-Scan reports along with any CDs of images that you have had done in the past.
We will take a history of your condition and an exam is performed. Cox Technic is very gentle and well tolerated but very powerful. This is why you will experience a shortened version of this treatment, which we call tolerance testing.
We want to be certain that you respond well and comfortably to the technique. Decompression of the spine is something we do not experience in any other circumstance-though very comfortable, you may experience some additional pain and/or discomfort after tolerance testing. This is normal and nothing to be worried about.
You may be given a requisition for X-Rays if we feel that this is necessary to get a better diagnosis of your condition. Results would be reviewed, shown and discussed with you along with recommendations for treatment at your second visit.

I’ve had back pain for decades, is there anything that you can do for me?
The Cox Technique is gentle and very well tolerated by everyone, some of our patients come to us in their 90’s. Though it may take a little longer to get full relief if you have had back pain for many years, you can hope for a significant reduction in pain with the Cox treatments as well as improved function. We will also counsel you on the dos and don’ts of looking after your spine at home and between appointments.
